Dressing for the moment,
not just the occasion
In India, we don't dress by season — we dress by moment. A haldi morning asks for something different than a Diwali evening; a card party is not a wedding reception. Samayanusartakes its name from that instinct: the Hindi word for “according to the time.” It is the belief our grandmothers dressed by, and the one we design by.
We started Samayanusar because occasion wear had drifted to two extremes — heavy, expensive pieces worn once and archived, or fast fashion that fades by the third wash. We wanted the sensible middle: ethnic wear you reach for again and again, cut from fabrics that breathe — cottons, rayons, mango silk and silk blends — and finished with the details that make a piece feel considered, not decorated.
Every design begins on paper in our studio and ends in the hands of Indian makers: mirror work set along a neckline, zari lace on a cuff, a leaf print drawn before it is ever screened. We produce in small batches, size every piece from S to XXL, and photograph garments exactly as they are — so what arrives is what you saw.
“Wear the Moment, Cherish the Legacy.”

Aarambh: A Royal Beginning
Every story needs a first line. Ours is Aarambh— Hindi for “beginning” — a tightly edited debut collection of kurta sets, suit sets and co-ord sets for the festive calendar: Diwali evenings, mehendi afternoons, wedding weeks and everything in between.
It is deliberately small. We would rather perfect twenty-two pieces than pad out two hundred. Each one earns its place — in print, in fabric, in the way it falls when you walk into a room.
